Re: My own home
I knew it was going to happen, driving home last night I thought to myself that I had enough time to stop by the post office before it closed, to take that off my list of errands I need to run on my day off. Then I remembered I don't have to do that anymore
Re: My own home

Re: My own home
It's been a big week for learning about home ownership. The heat going out and then some preventive stuff there. Then I finally took it upon myself to fix the leaking toilet that's been there since I moved on. I managed to do that without hurting myself too badly or having any leaks.
Re: My own home
Well done. You should have a word with the guy who sold it to you, it wasn't that long ago you moved in. Doesn't seem right to have so many issues in such a short time.

Re: My own home
In his defense, I did know about these things going in.... well not the bad switch in the system, but the other stuff I was aware of. Oh and part of the heat problem was my doing by messing with the thermostat.

Re: My own home
Now that the heat is fixed, it was the thermostat, and Christmas has come and gone, I've added some more stuff to the house. Besides some rugs at the doors and a wireless doorbell I just put up this coat rack so I can stop hanging coats on chairs.
And since Jess asked what a zen pet fountain was here it is. It recirculates the water through a charcoal filter keeping it fresh. It took all of 10 minutes for Ripley to start using and holds about a gallon of water.

Ah, that's what it is! It looks neat, saves you bothering to give Ripley fresh water too lol.
Just a thought Shane, wouldn't your coat hooks have been a bit better to the right a little, where coats hanging on them wouldn't cover up your light switches?

Re: My own home
I would have but that puts them on the stairs. That was kind of my compromise. I don't use the last 2 pegs on the left so nothing is covered... besides, I don't even know what one of those switches does.
Re: My own home
I finally took Garvy's advice and stepped up to a 40" TV. Very nice but smarter than I am.
Re: My own home
So playing around with this a little last night. The 2nd biggest use for my PS4, watching movies through various ways, is covered by the TV. Netflix, Prime, and all the movies I ever bought through PS Store are all there. I even managed to remember all my passwords and linked the accounts.

I know for me, that my 40+ is just too much for me to play certain games on.

Re: My own home
I'm slowly getting the new TV figured out and all the stuff it does. One thing I did discover. Though Playstation Now is set up on it, to work you need to leave the controller plugged in. Has anyone ever looked at how short that cord is? Once I plug it in I can only stand about 2' away from the screen, and off to the side. I'm thinking I'll pass on that feature.

Re: My own home
I'm thinking about it. I may spend a couple of bucks to try it out before investing in a cable that I won't use if it plays like crap.
Re: My own home
Nice looking tv. Now there's no excuses for tripping over things
