BFH and Destiny Empty BFH and Destiny

Post by Shane Fri Jun 13, 2014 5:56 am

So I got the beta for Battlefield Hardline and the Destiny alpha and gave them both a try last night. First BFH, I think Dean may be right on this one, it would have done better as DLC add-on rather than a full game but it is what it is. There's a lot going on without much explanation but it's basically still BF3 in a city in my opinion.

Destiny has a Mass Effect feel but not quite the same. It's pretty easy to figure out what's going on and navigate around. Even at alpha stage it looks and plays pretty good and as near as I can tell it's mostly co-op. I'll keep an eye on this one.

This doesn't happen often but since I got a beta code for Destiny I gave it a go over the last couple of days and based on that I changed this from a rental to a pre-order. Even as a beta, I've yet to see any kind of issues with it. The entire story can be played with 1-3 people co-op, there are several co-op only modes, and then I think there's some mp stuff for parties up to 6. It's kind of a combination of Mass Effect and Borderlands. What little I've played has been very good and I'm actually excited to see the finished product come September.

So Bungie just released the number of people who took part in the beta. I hope you're sitting down for this... just over 46 million and from what I've heard almost everyone I know who took part are also planning on buying the game based on that beta. COD and BF may have just met their match.

This just announced.... basically 6 player co-op, along with 3 player co-op through the whole story, and 6v6 mp. What more do you want?

Oh I forgot to mention, the 6 player co-op can only be played with friends... no randoms, no public games.

So the second Hardline beta is out and free to everyone. I tried out some over the weekend and its okay but I'm not sure how a cops and robbers game could be a Battlefield game is beyond me. Bank Heist is a nice concept but there's a little too much going on for my liking, at least on the one map it's available on. Conquest is always a good time so not much different there. Hardline is good, basically Conquest with moving targets, the only downside I've seen there is the people who still think kills are more important than objectives, so they rig the cars and wait for someone who wants to play the game to come along. Oh well, maybe someday I'll figure out how to work around that to. With that said, just by grabbing a car and keeping it running, I could go 0-5 and still be in the top half of the leader board.
